Determination of anisotropic intensive piezoelectric loss in polycrystalline ceramics

چکیده

This paper presents an advanced characterization method to obtain anisotropic intensive piezoelectric loss for k31, k33 and k15 mode. By redefining half-power bandwidth, new procedure is suggested with effective k31-k15 geometry using crystallographic approach. Without low capacitance bar structure, the relative error not worth consideration. Difficulty of shear mode analysis due spurious peaks are also resolved angled polarization. 1% Nb-doped Pb(Zr0.56Ti0.44)O3 prepared analyzed. The vibration could be analyzed A- B-type resonance where polarization by 60 75° from applied electric field, respectively. Using method, losses obtained as 2.0, 1.3 2.2%, anisotropy successfully obtained.

Characterisation of Piezoelectric Ceramics

The IEEE standard on piezoelectricity recommends methods to determine the coefficients of piezoelectric ceramics and the sizes of the samples to be used. A method to determine the difference between the actual coefficients and the coefficients determined using the IEEE standard is presented. The difference or error for samples of various shapes and sizes is presented. These errors and manufactu...

Piezoelectric Ceramics Characterization

This review explores piezoelectric ceramics analysis and characterization. The focus is on polycrystalline ceramics; therefore, single crystals, polymeric materials and organic/inorganic composites are outside the scope of this review. To thoroughly grasp the behavior of a piezoelectric polycrystalline ceramic, a basic understanding of the ceramic itself should not be overlooked. To this end, w...

Non-linear Properties of Piezoelectric Ceramics

Sensors and actuators based on piezoelectric ceramics are finding an increasingly large variety of applications under a very wide range of environmental conditions and applied signals. Some actuator applications require the piezoelectric materials to support large mechanical loads and produce high strain output. In order to accomplish this requirement of higher strains, large electric fields mu...
